BIO

Led by an inner call to understand and solve the fundamental mysteries in basic sciences, Ashish pursued his B.Tech and M.tech in Biotechnology from IIT Kharagpur to understand life, origin, and cognition. Ashish complteted his  Ph.D.  in the field of Cognitive Neuroscience from IIT Kanpur. His primary research interests are in understanding Human Brain. Particularly in investigating and modeling the brain during an enhanced cognitive state. Listening to music has been correlated with enhanced cognitive and emotional abilities. His work on “How music increases Brain efficiency,” published in Nature Scientific Reports, illustrates this phenomenon and reveals the potential of music in strengthening the Brain’s Intelligence network. Ashish is currently working on a unified model explaining the observed cognitive and emotion regulation effect during music listening. His expertise is in the advanced signal analysis of the data obtained through various modalities like EEG, fMRI, and fNIRS. Ashish is interested in investigating meditation and the altered states associated. Ashish is co-founder of  MBRICS (Mind-Brain research institute and coaching services):- A research institute to study the mind, brain, and meditation as well as promote mental health and well-being.
